It have two kinds: feelings and intentions. Motivation Feelings refer to the emotional or affective states that you experience when communicating with someone from a different culture, Intentions are what guard your choices in a particular intercultural communication. They are the goals, plans, objectives, and desires that focus and direct your behavior. Skills They refer to the actual performance of the behaviors felt to be effective and appropriate in the communication context. It include the language competence; skills of analysis and interpretation; skills of relating between different cultures; and the ability to put knowledge into practice in real situations. Dimensions According to Chen (1989), intercultural communication competence has four dimensions: personality strength, communication skills, psychological adaptation and cultural awareness.
