The Bible, Jesus Christ, Catholic and Protestant, etc. Jesus Christ a Jew in Palestine 2,000 years ago. The son of God, Mother Virgin Mary. Birth About 2000 years ago God sent an angel to Israel, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to Joseph, a carpenter. The angel told Mary that by Gods power, she would conceive and bear a son. When Joseph learned that she was pregnant, an angel instructed him to marry her. Mary gave birth to Jesus at a small inn when the couple was traveling. She laid him in a manger because there was no room at the inn. Later, Herod the Great, a wicked king, was told that Jesus would rule Israel. So the king sent soldiers to kill the children in this town. Warned by an angel, Joseph took his family to Egypt. After the king died, they returned to Israel and raised Jesus in a town called Nazareth. Death Jesus was a carpenter by trade. But later he began preaching. The things he did was against the Jewish laws. Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion. He was beaten by Roman soldiers, stripped, and nailed to a cross. He was 33 years old. His body was placed in the tomb of a rich man. Jesus had promised the disciples he would come back after death. His enemies knew this. So, to prevent anyone from stealing the b
