How to talk about a person – Part I;My grandmother is getting on a bit now– she’s nearly 80 years old– but she still has the energy of a woman half her age. She enjoys going hiking and can often be seen striding across a rugged hillside, walking stick in hand. Her husband passed away a few years ago, so it’s good to know that she keeps active and sociable with her walking club friends I admire my grandmother mainly because of her inner strength. It must be tough to carry on after having lost your husband of over forty years. She radiates cheerfulness and optimism whenever I’m with her, and I find this attitude so inspiring. I hope that I can live my life with the same gusto with which she has lived hers. She doesn’t let anything get her down. It is a shame that I can’t see her as often as I used to, so I look forward even more to those times when we can be together. ;How to talk about a person – Part I;We were both interested in fantasy stories, so we used to play games where we would act out made-up adventures about knights and dragons, aliens and robots, and other farfetched scenarios. We were also big fans of computer games, so we’d talk about them constantly, and of course we’d play them together as well. I’ll always remember Sam well because he was my closest companion during my time at primary school. We were best friends and played together all the time. He has such a larger than life character; he always has a story to tell and a joke to share. It’s hard to forget such a unique person.
