初中英语教学中的跨文化交际 Intercultural Communication in English-Teaching in Junior School Abstract With the development of communication and transportation, the globalization of world economy, the widespread population migrations that lead to multicultural workforce and society, intercultural communicative competence becomes a required ability for citizens in the 21st century to survive and live meaningfully and productively. To communicate effectively with people from different culture, an individual needs to develop an intercultural competence梩hat can be built from the ability of intercultural awareness, sensitivity and competence. Our English Teaching should be a practical and effective procedure in developing students’ intercultural communicative competence, which is almost ignored in middle schools because of the test-oriented teaching aim, the different levels of the teachers’ quality and other causes. Teaching English is not only to give an instruction on syntactic structures or on learning new words and expressions, but also to incorporate some cultural elements, which are intertwined with language itself, to help students to apply the necessary skills to communication and deal with problems arising from intercultural interactions so as to improve their competence in intercultural communication in their personal, social and professional lives. Furthermore, effective communication is more than a matter of language proficiency .Apart from enhancing and enriching communicative competence, cultural competence can also lead to empathy and respect for different cultures, thus promoting objectivity and cultural perspicacity. Key Words:intercultural communicative competence, cultural awareness, incorporate 内 容 摘 要 随着国际交往与交通的发展,世界经济的全球化,人口迁移的广泛分布,导致工作伙伴与社会群体之间多文化并存的现象日见频繁,跨文化交际也因此成了21世纪人们生存与生活的必备能力。为了能与来自不同文化的人们顺利沟通,个体必须注重跨文化交际能力的培养:从跨文化交际意识,敏感度进而到能力的形成。 我们的英语教学正是在教语言的同时从小培养学生跨文化交际能力的有效途径之一。而这个目的却因为中学普遍存在的应试教育的压力,教师自身素质的参差不齐及其他种种原因而几乎被忽略。 英语教学不仅仅是教会学生句法,结构,生词短语等语言知识,还必须传授与语言
