From remote ancient times, culture has influenced people visibly or invisibly , and it is a necessary part of human’s life. As is known to all, with the further development of human society and culture, the literature appears and there are different kinds of writing styles. Some are famous, and some are little known. This paper will introduce a small branch of literature, the desert island literature, an aspiring style filled with adventure and bravery. The desert island literature ,namely, is a writing way to depict lives on desert islands, and it is also the traditional writing way of English literature. It shares with other styles of literature the great honor of the splendid and gorgeous treasure of human’s great achievements in history. The unique location of British isles contributes greatly to the birth of this special literary genre. And the unique geographic environment, the development of British colonies, and the risking spirit of British people give the distinctive British characters to desert island literature.
