AND ENERGIZED FOR MANY YEARS

ABSTRACT: Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) silicone
rubber coating can prevent pollution flashover accident from
happening, and it has been widely used in China. Lots of 1
sample insulators are taken down from transmission lines in
Tianjin directly without cleaning, then the hydrophobicity RTV
classes of samples are investigated and their electrical
performances are compared with new RTV coated insulators [1-2]
and porcelain insulators. Then Fourier Transform Infrared 20 80 RTV
Spectroscopy (FTIR) is employed to investigate the inherent
