What did you achieve during your summer vacation? I came back to my hometown where I spent two weeks enjoying family life, visiting my relatives and former schoolmates. It’s great to feel wanted and needed by your loved ones! I did some English reading and finished two novels, The Great Gatsby and Madame Bovary. Both my vocabulary and sentence patterns were further built up. In the early August, I attended an academic conference in Taiyuan where I exchanged my teaching experiences with other counterparts and did some travelling there. I was giving lessons to a group of postgraduate students at an IELTS training programme over the past month. It took me over a month to compose a test paper for IBT listening of Band 4. Last but not least, Ms. Liu Xueyu and I worked out the textbook for Practical English Writing. There’s too much to be desired in this textbook!
