List Catalogue 2017-01 Cooperation is the Key to our Mutual Success A great selection of wines at great prices … Chinese consumers will make drinking wine part of their weekly lives only when this goal is achieved. Importers and wholesales in China need to cooperate more. Our future success comes from building a better wine market not trying to destroy the competition. In a world with hundreds of thousands of wine producers no one wine producer, and no one wine importer, will completely serve the market. In this catalogue we present 51 different brands from over 40 different wine producers. It is an amazing collection of wines that tells stories from all corners of the globe. However, 51 wine brands is “a drop in the bucket” and represents only a small fraction of the amazing wine in the world. Roque has a great portfolio of wine but we can’t represent all the important wines in the world. We rely on our competitors, and future competitors, to complete the diverse range of wines the market needs. As China continues to develop into a sophisticated wine market there will be a need for many more Roques. There will be a need for many quality, passionate wine importers and distributors. Only then will consumers and wine professionals be fully served. Only then will China have a truly global selection of wines. The real opportunity in China is to cooperate to build a bigger market. Wine Intelligence, in their 2016 report, estimated that there are 48 million consumers in China who drink wine more than two times a year. 48 million people is only about 5% of the adult population.
