Teaching Plan Teaching Content: Unit 4 Section A How to Make a Good Impression Teaching Aims: the students will be: 1. able to have a good understanding of the text; 2. able to understand the structure of the text; 3. able to think about the effective way of making a good impression. Teaching Difficulties: 1. help the students to understand the text better; 2. help the students to understand the structure. Teaching Aids: a multimedia classroom, chalks Teaching Procedures: Step 1: Greetings Greet the whole class as usual. Step 2: Leading-in ( approx. 5min. ) Watch a video clip from The Devil Wears Prada. 2. Direct the Ss to form their first impression on the woman by observing her eyes, dressing, posture, ways to speak to her assistant. Question 1 What is your first impression of the woman in the movie? Tips: arrogant, bossy, confident, fashionable, demanding... Question 2 Why do you say so? Tips: eyes, faces, bodies, attitudes... 3. Transitional remark:You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This is absolutely true. We form our first impression on others the moment we see them through unspoken communication. Then, what can we do to make a good impression on others? Especially when you meeting your boyfriend or girlfriend at the first time. Maybe you can find the answer you need in this text. OK, now lets come to text. Step 3.
