Performance Acceleration Modules are PCIe cards with DRAM or Flash memory and a custom memory management unit. These cards fit into the expansion slots of a storage controller. Our PAM cards are intelligent read caches for user data and NetApp metadata. We say intelligent because what gets cached depends which of three modes of operation you select.
