Analysing for Writing

Ladies and gentlemen, good morning! I’m Zhang Hongliang from Yucai Middle School of Fuxin City.
Today I’m very pleased to have such an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas with all of you.
For this lesson, first, I’d like to say something about the type of my lesson. It’s “analysing for writing”, that is “analysing the three life stories in the textbook for writing a life story”. I think this is a new type for the modal lesson, because I haven’t seen a teacher design his lesson as “analysing”. They usually design their lessons as Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, which are the basic skills for learning English. But I think analysing is more important than, or at least as important as, the four skills, because teaching them how to analyse is teaching them how to fish, not only give them fish. So I design this lesson as “analysing for writing” just for a try.
Now let me present my lesson from the following parts. Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure Blackboard design, and at last comes my Reflection.
First, let me talk about the teaching material.
Part 1 Teaching Material:
This module is about music, and the part I choose is taken from Module Three Book Two reading and vocabulary part, which introduces the life stories of three great Europe composers: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
We have read the passage many times in the last lesson, and got to know what the passage is about, so, as I said just now, the type of this lesson I design is to analyse the three life stories for writing a life story.
With this purpose, I designed the following teaching aims:
