Unfortunately, there had been no effective way to integrate these two scheduling problems. An integrated method of steel-making planning and continuous casting planning is proposed in this paper. Firstly, a set of potential furnace charge plans is obtained through solving a multi-objective model of furnace charge planning. Secondly, the casting plan can be obtained in terms of the solutions of continuous casting planning mathematical model with the objective of minimizing the number of casting plans. Finally, the furnace charge plan is confirmed according to the casting plan. Multi-objective simulated annealing algorithm and modified variable neighborhood search algorithm are designed to solve the two mathematical models.
