In this article the possible improving method for the ecological environment has been investigated in de- tail. We present the live-willow-branch and woodtip-bed methods to enrich the bank protection for the biological inhabitation as the alternative for the improvement of en- vironmental ecology. The construction steps and applications of live-willow-branch and woodtip-bed on the XinXing dike of Peinan river have been studied. Especially, these methods have been proved to be very good and effective for the environmental protec- tion after the invasion of several storms and typhoons. In conclusion, these methos presented in this paper can be used as the reference for dike designs and constructions in the future.
