八下Chapter 2 知识提要 一．咬文嚼字 1.辨析both / all （1）both 指两个人或两个物都……，用于两者 （2）all是指三者或三者以上都…… 2.辨析instead of / instead （1）instead of 取代，而不是，相当于介词短语，后跟名词，动词不定式，形容词，副词，动名词。 (2)instead 代替，而是，是副词，单独置于句首或句尾 3.success成功 n . successful adj . succeed v . 4.price 价格 是可数名词 注意：价格的高低只能用high/ low 而不能用 expensive / cheap 来表示 We have sweaters was unknown. 5.辨析for example / such as (1)for example 一般只以同类事物或人中的“一个”为例，作插入语，用逗号隔开，可置于句首、句中或句末。 （2）such as 也做“例如”讲，用来举例同类事物或人中的几个例子。 Some of the European languages come from Latin ,such as French ,Italian and Spanish. 6.feel like 后接名词、代词、或动名词 = would like 7.troubl (1)v .麻烦，使烦恼 （2）n 疾病，困难，麻烦，烦恼 In trouble 处于困境 8.wonder vi/vt 觉得奇怪，想要知道。常见的结构有： （1）wonder +wh+不定式 I was wondering where to spend the holiday . (2) wonder +wh/if (whether) 从句 I wonder if you are free this evening. (3) wonder + that 从句 I wonder that he could come back without losing the way. (4)wonder +at We wonder at his doing that (5) wonder +不定式 I wondered to hear his voice in the next room.. (6)wonder about I was wondering about that. 9.decide v . decide to do sth 10.辨析fall down/ fall off (1)fall off 表示“从……上落下或掉下”。 （2）fall down 的意思是“倒塌，掉下”，不强调落物的来处。 语法重点 形容词的运用 1.定语性形容词词，修饰名词，置于名词前面 a long history 2.表语性形容词 ，我们可以把形容词用于某些动词之后，如be ,look, sound, smell, taste, seem,也就是我们常说的系表结构 3.形容词作宾补。V+object+complement. 有一些特定的动词如make, keep, want, find, think, like ,prefer. They thought it would be funny to make the mouse clever. 4.It is adj +to do sth / It is adj+ for sb to do sth 注意与It’s adj + of sb to do sth. 在形容词nice ,good , kind, clever , polite 等 形容词后面使用不定式结构时，不定式前常用 用of sb 来说明这个人具有某种性格或品质。 一．单项选择 1.Mary decided _________ English well.
