As one of the Four great ancient civilizations , with more five thousands years history ,Chinese culture is a colorful stroke in the world culture history. It’s no doubt that the Han nationality, Chinas main nationality who distributed all over the country , play the leading role in 56 different nationalities. However, most people are not aware of this truth: Nowadays, the Han nationality is a nationality in bare. They even know nothing about their national costume. Like other people, they take a ridiculous mistake: lots of Han Chinese think cheongsam whose history shorter than 100 years is their national costume ,instead of their real cloth: Hanfu. Hanfu is the traditional costume that has been worn by Han Chinese people for approximately 5000 years. It is believed to have been worn by Huangdi(the Yellow Emperor), a great sage king of ancient China whom legend says ruled in the 27th century BC. Hanfu itself has a recorded history of more than 3000 years. It was worn by Han Chinese people from the semi-legendary Xia Dynasty all the way to the Ming Dynasty (about 1368-1644). The traditional dress of many Asian countries have been influenced by Hanfu, especially those of Japan and Korea ,Kimono and Hanbok. Han nationality was named after Han dynasty . Han Clothes was named after Han dynasty too.Han dynasty was a dynasty whose conception of centralization was the most early, most complete, most advancing, most powerful. Hanfu encompasses all types of traditional clothing worn by the Han Chinese ethnic group. As such, it has a history as long as the history of the Han Chinese people. Hanfu was eliminated by Manchu invaders by force in the 17th century, and is largely unknown in China today, except among a small but vocal group of people advocating the revival of Hanfu as a Chinese national costume.
