J: Welcome to the 7th ‘President Cup’ Undergraduate Spoken English Contest of Huazhong Agricultural Uni. C: Tonight’s competition is the final round, jointly brought to you by the Dean’s Office of HZAU…J: Communist Youth League Committee of HZAU… C: sponsored by Foreign Language School. J: I’m Zheng. It’s my greatest pleasure to participate in this competition again. C: This is Xie. And it’s also the 2nd time I have hosted this grand event. Guess what, Jeff, I simply haven’t had enough. J: and I guess that’s the reason why you are here again. But for me, this is the very 1st time I’m hosting this final competition and I have already been very much impressed by the performance of the preliminary round. C: Exactly. I’ve seen so many outstanding contestants. They demonstrate such a high level of English, and I’m so looking forward to enjoying more in the coming 2 hours. J: The President Cup, featuring English debate, speech and performance, is the most well-known English event on our campus. Up to the present, it is celebrating its 7th birthday. C: It provides us with a great opportunity to display the best of our capability and creativity of language, inspiring students like us to take courage and show ourselves on the stage. J: After last Friday’s heated competition, today is the day when the 6 top group finishers will be showcasing their best. Each of them will be hoping to take home the much coveted President Cup. C: So the question really is who have made it to final of the finals held today. Actually if you have been watching the preliminary round last week, you will realize that the 36 contestants altogether have presented quite a show.
