Abstract
In most vocational colleges, English teachers for Specific Purpose are always general English teachers who are not efficient on profession but on language. Most of them are concentrating on language skills’ teaching, but ignoring the English for specific purposes (ESP) teaching. Vocational students in China learn English rather for passing exams or getting certifications than communicating. Therefore, the author comes up with the idea of the combination of ESP and English for general purposes (EGP) to help them learn communicative skills in English.
