During your job-hunting, an organizational culture should be paid special attention to because corporate culture communicates how people in an organization should behave or how things are done around here. It represents a common perception(理念) held by the organization’s members. In fact, an organizational culture affects its employers in numerous ways. The following listed are some factors related to corporate culture. Discuss with your classmates to find which factor of the following affects each of you most and then give the reasons. The hours you work per day, per week, including options such as flextime(弹性上班制)and telecommuting(远距离工作). The work environment, including how employees interact, the degree of competition, and whether it’s a fun or hostile environment --- or something in between. The dress code(着装), including the accepted styles of attire(服装,衣服)and things such as casual days. The training and skills development you receive, which you need both on the job and to keep yourself marketable for future jobs and employers. Onside perks(额外补贴), such as break rooms(休息室), gyms and play rooms, daycare facilities, and more. The amount of time outside the office you are expected to spend with co-workers. Interaction with other employees, including managers and top management. What Is Corporate Culture? 什么是企业文化? The word “culture” is derived from the Latin verb “colere” which means “to cultivate”. Later, the word “culture” came to indicate a process of refinement in the breeding (培育) and domesticating(驯养) of some particular crop(农作物). In contemporary times the meaning related to the society’s control, refinement and domestication of itself. A contemporary definition of culture is the “set of importan
