The Advanced Editor Menus can help you with various editing functions, similar to a word processor. There is a help text at the bottom right and is viewed using the up, down, home, and end keys – not arrows. There are also a number of shortcut keys that you can use instead of the Drop down menus. F2-F2 to highlight a block of code that you want to copy or delete, is very useful. The box in the middle right contains some information pertaining to the highlighted Quick Code section. As can be seen here, you must turn the handle CCW for SUB-Menus and CW for the Main Menu topics. To select a menu, Press W/E. Quick Code can help you create the code for a program, but it is a little more time consuming the Visual Quick Code. QC contains a selection for Engraving (under “9. Misc Commands”). You will need to add some other commands, though, such as a Tool change, Spindle on, and positioning. These you could copy from other sections of your program, or use the selections in Quick Code. You could also use the Intuitive Programming System to program the engraving. The text below the box gives an explanation of the highlighted code. Visual Quick Code is a Graphical editor that will create a complete program from a few inputs. You will notice that there are a number of Template categories on the right. For each of these Categories, there are up to nine different templates. We first want to face off our part, so we would select the “Face Milling” Templates. The VQC Face Milling template produces an overlap equal to the cutter radius, so you will need to use more passes than you might expect. In this case 4-passes is best. If you want to use a different Origin for your part, you could use G55 for this template and G54 for your other templates. The program will be shown on the Advanced Editor Screen.
