This specification is applicable to any casting component requiring Magnetic Particles inspection for its acceptance.
Scope
This specification defines the procedure and severity levels for the inspection of cast iron and ferromagnetic cast steels components using magnetic particles technique (whatever it is the casting technique).
This specification covers the inspection procedures and acceptance criteria to be fulfilled by any casting, forging, rolled and welded product supplier. Inspection areas are not covered by this specification. These can be found in the part specification.
