Unit 4 Topic 3 What time is it now ? Section B Good morning, everyone! I’m Li Xiaoming, from Chengxiang Middle School. It is my great honor to have this opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas. My presentation consists of seven parts :①Analysis of material; ②Analysis of students; ③Teaching objectives ; ④Teaching methods; ⑤Teaching instruments ; ⑥Teaching procedures; ⑦Blackboard design Ⅰ.Analysis of material This is Section B ,Topic 3, Unit 4 of Book1 from Ren’ai Project English for the seventh-grade students. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is easy to arouse the Ss? learning interests. In Section A,we have known how to talk about time ,the usage of past and to ,half and quarter and so on .In this section ,it mainly tells us Kangkang’s day and how to express sb’s preferences and daily routines. The main contents of this lesson are the following sentence structure: 1. ---- What time is it now ? ----It’s… ----It’s time to… 2.----What is your favorite animal? ----It is … Ⅱ. Analysis of students The students have already studied English for about four months. They are curious, active, and fond of game, competition, and various activities. They enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere. But they are lack of confidence in speaking in public . So, the teacher would better create English atmosphere to make them do more practice. If the students have some difficulty in understanding, the teacher should use pictures, gestures, or even in Chinese to explain if necessary. Ⅲ. Teaching objectives: ①Knowledge objectives: (1) By the end of this class, Ss can listen, speak, read, and write clever,animal,hour, today, later, It’s time to…,get up, have breakfast,go home,go to the zoo, etc. (2) By the end of this class, students can ask and answer the time using: What time is it now? ---It is….
