Romeo and Juliet ? Characters ? Romeo: The son of Mr. Montague. Juliet: the daughter of Mr. Capulet. Mercutio: Romeo’s daughter. Tybalt: Juliet’s cousin. Paris: a young nobleman. Mrs. Capulet: Juliet’s mother. Mr. Capulet: Juliet’s father. Juliet’s nurse. A godfather. ? ? Act 1 Romeo: Oh, brawling love, oh loving hate, It makes me wonder night and day! Heavy lightness, serious vanity, Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, all of these, cannot describe what it is! (Mercutio enters) Mercutio: Romeo, why are you so sad? The day is still young, a party is about to come. At the Capulet’s, a feast will be held, with wine and beauties, singing and dancing- Let’s go there and have some fun! (They exit) ? Act 2 ? Narrator: ( on TV ) Two families, Montague and Capulet, both with wealth and dignity. The hatred is deeply rooted in their hearts; the fight is going on constantly. Here, in Italy, we lay our scene, and present you with this love story. (Dancers enter) (The nurse enters and turns off the TV) Nurse: Juliet! (Mr. Mrs. Capulet enter) All three: Juliet!! (Music, dancing, Mercutio singing) (Romeo and Juliet stand on different sides, making their way through the dancing crowd) (Paris tries to dance with Juliet .She ignores him, still going on) (R J meet. Dancers exit) Romeo: I’ve never seen true love till tonight! Miss, may I have the honor to know your name? Juliet: Well… (Tybalt and nurse rush in) Tybalt: How dare you appear at our Capulet’s party! Juliet, this is Romeo the Montague, a villain. To strike him dead I hold it not a sin! Nurse :( stopping Tybalt) Peace, Tybalt, peace. (To Juliet) Miss, this is the son of our great enemy. You should not get acquainted with him, for the sake of your family. (to Romeo)Now, go away, you, immediately! (Romeo forced off the stage, Juliet left with the nurse) Juliet: I am fortune’s foo
