Focus on Comprehension Post-reading Focus on Structure and Meaning 1. Although my family did not suffer any loss and needn’t move away from the threatened area, many of our friends and colleagues were not so lucky. 2. The skies became dark with the smoke and ashes rising form the hills and the scene was much like that of an eclipse, when the sun is covered by the moon. 3. We have sufficient reason to feel proud of our ability to identify and treat disease . 4. On seeing the horrible scenes on the television, one will surely be impressed by the great bravery and endurance of the fore fighters. 5. This natural disaster seemed to show the best in people and served as an example of the basic nobility of human nature. 6. This attitude of resolution to face the disaster calmly and start over again would seen to be the perfect reaction to any difficulty. I
