ABSTRACTThereisnoorlittlenickelinferriticstainlesssteel,whichmakesitcheaperthan austeniticstainlesssteel.Ithasabroadapplicationprospectinarchitecturaldecoration, homeappliances,kitchenutensilsandtableware,vehicleparts.Nowitisakindof stainless steels of development potential.Theweldpenetrationissmallandtheefficencyislowwhenferriticstainless steelwasweldedbyTIGorlaserweldingmethods.Withtheapplicationofactivating fluxes,theweldspenetrationincreasessignificantly.Researchofactivatedwelding mainlyfocusonmaterialssuchascarbonsteel,titaniumalloy,aluminumalloy, magnesiumalloy,austeniticstainlesssteel.Thereisnoresearchersreportforferritic stainless steel.Inthepaper,studiesofactivedweldingprocessandthemechanismanalisisof activated fluxes were focusedona representativesteel SUS430.Firstly,somecommonoxides,halidesandcarbonatesareappliedinA-TIGand laserweldingtestsrespectively.Theresultsshowedthattheeffectofoxidesonwelds penetrationwasmoreremarkable.B2O3,SiO2,CrO3,TiO2andKClperformedbetter in A-TIG,whileZrO2, CaCO3, CaO and MgOperformed better in A-LBW.Onthebasisofexperimentswithsinglecomponentactivating?ux,thebestfluxeswereselectedtodeveloptheformulaofmulti-componentactivatingflux.Test schemeadoptstheuniformdesigntoarrange,whichgreatlyreducedtheamountof tests.Thegreytheory(includingthegreyrelationalanalysisandadvantageanalysis) andnonlinearregressionmethodwereintroducedintothedevelopmentofformulato furtherexploretheinfluenceregularityofthecontentandtheinteractionofeach componentonweldspenetration,whichprovidespowerfulguidanceforthecomponent optimizationwork.TheweldspenetrationwithA-TIGactivatingfluxoptimizedbyabove- mentionedmathematicalmethodswas2.22timesasthatwithoutfluxinthesame condition,whiletheoptimizedA-LBWactivatingfluxcouldmaketheweld penetration up to 2.23 timesas that without flux.The effect was obviouslysuperiortosinglecomponetactivatingflux,whichprovethefeasibilityofmathematicalmethods usedin thestudyofactivatingflux.Microstructure,mechanicalproperties,corrosionresi
