EffectofPloy-hollowSpheresonThePerformancesofCeramicAbstractMicron-ceramicploy-hollowspheresarecompositedofsomeceramichollowspheres andparticalsizeisinseveralmicronstoafewhundredmicrons.Theyarecharacteristicof lightweight,highstrength,lowheatconductivity,soundinsulation,wear-resisting,high dispersion,electricinsulationandheatstabilityduetohollow-structure.Asanewlight industrialbasematerial,theyarewidelyusedinmanyareas,suchasaerospace,aviation, military,medicine,chemicalindustry,petroleum,roads,buildingmaterials,refractory insulation,plastics,rubber,resinmaterial,highwaterandsoilconservationanddesert management.Toimprovetheperformanceofceramic,poly-hollowsphereswereaddedinceramic materials.Whenthecrackextendsacrossingthelayerofpoly-hollowsphere,theenergygets dissipationandcrackexpansiondeflects.Bassontheenergyreleaseandcrackdeflectionover and over, high-performanceceramicmaterials arepreparation.Inthispaper,thedensity,contractibilityrate,waterabsorptionandstrengthofAl2O3 porousceramics,preparedbydirect-mixtureaddingpoly-hollowspheres,wereinvestigatedat different sinteringtemperature.Theresultsshowedthatwaterabsorptionofpoly-hollow spherehadnoclearchangingwithdifferentsinteringtemperature.Theceramicweremore compact,withsinteringtemperatureincreasing,theperformancegotimproved.Thefracture toughnessandflexurestrengthincreasedfrom0.5MPa?m1/2and25MPato2.25MPa?m1/2and 250MPa,respectively,at1550degreecomparedat1200degree.Thebondingforcebetween poly-hollow-sphereandmatrixgraduallyincreased,andthefracturebehaviorsof poly-hollow-spheretransform formed inter-hollow spheres to trans-hollow spheres.Wepreparedlaminatedceramicsbyaddingpoly-hollowspheresintosoftlayer. MechanicalpropertiesofAl2O3-Al2O3 andSi3N4-Si3N4 laminatedceramicswerecompared bydifferent massfractions of poly-hollow-spheres andlayer thickness ratios. Samples wereliabletodelaminatingwithvariousmaterialofpoly-hollowsphereandbasalbodydueto differentThermalexpansioncoefficientatdifferentsinteringtemperature.Thehighest
