AbstractRecent years, organic field-effect transistors ( OFETs) have gradually attracted widespread concern in academic circles, because of their low cost, large area processing and flexibility, which make themselves an important research topic in organic electronics research. Due to many advantages, OFETs have wide applications, such as in liquid crystal displays. drive circuit of active matrix organic electroluminescent flexible displays, smart cards, electronic bar code labels, price tags of goods and large area sensor arrays and other fields.After introducing the brief history of OFET development, working principle and performance characterization, OFET devices based on copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) were fabricated and studied. The main contents include:According to the device structure and the parameters of the feature size, the shadow masks were designed and fabricated; PCB boards and the test circuits were also prepared according to the OFETs characterization principle, So the OFETs device fabrication platform and characterization platform were completed.Multiunit groups comparison experiments were designed to find the influence of the following factors on the performance of the OFETs: oxygen plasma treatment time, the thickness of the active layer, the thickness of the hole injection layer and other parameters. We discussed the result and got the best the best values of the various process parameters and the optimum device structure in our laboratory environment .By annealing the fabricated device at 130 oC in air, the mobility and the stability of the OFETs can be significantly improved in comparison with the untreated device. The heat-treated devices without encapsulation show a device storage stability of nearly 400 hours while the untreated one only 183 hours. This improvement is suggested to be mainly attributed to the reduction of the contact barrier between CuPc and the electrode, as well as the better alignment of CuPc molecules via post annealin
