Maybe her talent was a part from her familial inheritance.The general ideas in the bookThe leading character in this book is Jerusha Abbott, a girl who was brought up at the John Grier Home, an old-fashioned orphanage. The children were wholly dependent on charity. Jerusha’s first name was selected by the matron off a gravestone, while her surname was selected out of the phone book. She didn’t like her name, so latter she changed it into Judy.At the age of 15, she has finished her education and was at loose ends, so the question of her future was brought up. Luckily, she had done well in school in certain branches and it seemed that her work in English had even been brilliant. So a gentleman had offered to send her to college and he was planning to educate her to become a writer. With the help of a gentleman whom she had never seen, she went to a college. But she was asked to write a letter to the man once a month about her college life. Judy found her life completely changed with the help of this mysterious benefactor.She just knew the benefactor was tall and rich. And he will stay tall all his life, so she decided to call him Daddy-long-legs. Judy kept her promise that she sent Daddy letter at least once a month.
