Stomatal conductance model is an important tool to evaluate performance of stomatal regulation of plant leaves. But the fitting capability of the models is different from research object, environment, etc. For comparing the applicability of several frequently-used stomatal conductance models for tobacco, in this study, light-response curves of stomatal conductance of tobacco were measured on the condition that CO2 concentration and temperature were controlled with 390 μmol·mol-1 and 20, 25, 30 and 35 ℃, in field by using Li-6400 photosynthesis determination system. Stomatal conductance of tobacco in the temperature treatments were fitted with Ball-Berry model (BB model) and its subsequent refinement Leuning correction model (BBL model) and mechanism model deduced by Ye Zipiao and Yu Qiang (BBY model), and then the fitting effect was compared. The stomatal conductance model and the emendatory light response model of net photosynthesis were coupled (coupling model). Then the light response characteristics of tobacco stomatal conductance were studied, and compared with Jarvis model. The fitting results showed that BBY model can describe the relationship between stomatal conductance and net photosynthesis of tobacco better in the temperature treatments compared with BB model and BBL model. Both coupling model and Jarvis model can fit the response of stomatal conductance to light well, but the fitting effect of coupling model was better, and it can estimate maximum stomatal conductance and corresponding saturation light intensity. Meanwhile, it can be used to be studied the problem that whether or not the maximum stomatal conductance and maximum net photosynthetic rate are synchronized.
