Almost 400 years later, it is now with distinctive Chinese characteristics---china English，a variety of English which plays significant role in international communication between China and other English countries. Chinglish refers to the Sinicized English due to the linguistic transfer or the interference of the language learner’s home culture and the thought patterns peculiar to the home culture or the arbitrary translation by the Chinese English learners. It doesn’t accord with the regulation of English. Its thinking mode, ways of expression, the selection and collocation of words are all with Chinese characteristics. It is commonly applied to ungrammatical or nonsensical(无意义的；荒谬的) English in Chinese contexts, and may have pejorative or deprecating connotations. “高高兴兴上班去, 平平安安回家来”, Go to work happily, and come back safely! Chinglish is an interlanguage and impossible to eliminate it. Selinker ( 1974 ) 等人提出的“过渡语言假设”( Interlanguage Hypo thesis) 认为学习者在学习另一种语言过程中总是要使用一种过渡语言, 它既不是学习者把本族语翻译为外语, 也异于那些从小讲某一外语的人所说的话。它是一种介于母语与第二语言之间的、非任意的、遵循一定规则的语言。 Prof. Ge Chuangui (1980:91-92), in his short article about Chinese-English translation, first put forward the notion of china English.
