It’s my great honor to stand here to share my teaching thoughts with all of you. Today my subject is Section A of Unit 9 My favorite subject is science? I will analyze this section from six parts. They are analysis of the teaching material, the students, the teaching objectives, the teaching methods, the learning strategies and the teaching procedure. Now let’s come to Part one: Analysis of the teaching material. Position and function: Section A of unit9: My favorite subject is science? comes from the book republished by People’s Education Press which aims at grade 9’ s students revised according to the new curriculum standard . In this unit, students will learn to talk about preferences. This is a topic that students will be very interested in. That will be very helpful to practice using the target language. This period mainly provides Ss with some new vocabulary and sentence structure to describe different kinds of subjects, and provides students with meaningful tasks to improve their listening，speaking, reading and writing abilities. What’s more, it is closely connected with Section B, therefore, Section A is the fundamental part of the whole unit. Key and difficult points Key points: In this class, I will enable my students to master the useful words, structures and the grammar---Special question and encourage students to use them in daily life.
