Byron Microsoft PowerPoint

Byron Lord George Gordon Byron was as famous in his lifetime for his personality cult as for his poetry. He created the concept of the Byronic hero - a defiant, melancholy young man, brooding on some mysterious, unforgivable event in his past. Byrons influence on European poetry, music, novel, opera, and painting has been immense, although the poet was widely condemned on moral grounds by his contemporaries. Byron’s contribution lies in his Byronic hero and he is hailed as the champion of liberty. Features of his poetry: 1.?the novelty of his oriental scenery 2.?the romantic character of the Byronic Hero 3.?the easy, fluent, and natural beauty Byronic Hero, a proud, mysterious rebel figure of noble origin with immense superiority in his passions and powers, would carry on his shoulders the burden of righting all the wrongs in a corrupt society, and would rise single-handedly against any kind of tyrannical rules either in government, in religion, or in moral principles with unconquerable wills and inexhaustible energies. The conflict is usually one of rebellious individuals against outworn social systems and conventions. Such a hero appears first in Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage, and then further developed in later works such as The Oriented Tales, Manfred, and Don Juan. The figure is modeled on the life and personality of Byron himself, and makes Byron famous both at home and abroad. The Theme of Byron’s poems: Liberty Works: When We Two Parted The poem was written in 1808,concerning the alleged relationship between Lady Frances Webster (whom Byron was attracted to) and the Duke of Wellington. To sever: to part Sunk: sank Wert: were Thy spirit deceive: your spirit could deceive Sonnet on Chillon 咏锡庸 This poem is written in Ita
