How to describe an object, an animal or a person in an effective and efficient way 2.How to write a Missing, and Lost and Found notice using the proper format and language style II Teaching Tips When you write a missing, lost or found notice you are supposed to: 1. Provide the description, appearance and features of the missing, lost or found 2. Give available contact information 3. Highlight the most important points 4.Include reward, if any, for the missing and the lost 5. Use simple sentence patterns and informal words, mostly in the form of phrases III Teaching Procedure Step1 Warm up Step2 Presentation Step3 Practice Step4 Mini-Projects Step1 Warm up Missing and Lost notices are short texts written to look for missing people, lost animals, articles or other valuables. Found notices are written to inform others that certain lost animals, articles or valuables have been found. As short texts, they are simple in form and often informal or colloquial in language, always in the form of phrases but sincere in voice. They are mostly seen in the public places, sometimes at the lost and found office. Questions for discussion: 1.What is the writer’s specific intention of writing this Found notice? ____________________________________________________________ 2.What necessary information should be included in a Found notice? ____________________________________________________________ 3.What features of the dog are described? ____________________________________________________________ Case 1 Questions for discussion: 1)To inform the person who lost the dog that the dog has been found. 2)The contact information. 3)?Medium sized dog, looks to be a mixed breed. ?golden yellow with white underbelly and paws, a bit of black around the muzzle.
