AbstractSeismicdesignofhigh-risebuildingsisalwaysamainconcernwhichrelatedtothesecurityofthewholestructure.Duetotheadvantagesoflightweightandhighstrength,concretehollowfloorgainsitspopularityinlargespanhigh-risestructures.AnewpassiveenergydissipationsystembasedonthehollowfloorandtheTunedRotaryMassDamper(TRMD)isproposedhereincombiningthecharacteristicofhollowfloor.TheTRMDareplacedinthehollow-boxtotakefulladvantageofthespareroomofhollowfloor.TheTRMDadoptedinthispaperiscomposedofaballandaunidirectionalarcpath.Theballisinitiallylocatedatthebottomofthearcpathandbeginstorollalongthearcpathwhenthedeviceissubjectedtobaseinputs.Therefore,theenergyinputtothestructurefromdynamicloadscouldbeabsorbedthroughtherollingmotionoftheballanddissipatedthroughthefrictionbetweenthesurfaceoftheballandthepath.Specifically,adifferentialequationoftranslationalmotionofthesingle-TRMD-controlledstructureisderivedbytheLagrange’svariationalmethod.Next,numericalsimulationsofthecontrolledsystemareimplementedusingtheNewmark-??method.TheresultsindicatetheTRMDcouldeffectivelyreducetheseismicresponseofstructurestodifferentearthquakeaccelerations.Further,Theequationofmotionofmulti-TRMD-controlledstructureisalsoderived.TheeffectsofseveralparametersincludingthenumbersofTRMDs,theorbitradius,theradiusoftheoscillators,thecoefficientofrollingfrictionandthedampingratioofstructuresarepresented.Withregardtothetranslation-torsioncoupledstructure,thedampingprincipleisslightlydifferentfromthatoftranslationstructure,sinceithasanadditionalfreedomoftorsionwhichaffectsthemotionoftheballintheTRMD.Similartheoreticalinvestigationandnumericalanalysisareconductedonthetranslation-torsioncoupledstructure.TheresultsdemonstratethattheTRMDcouldreducethestructuretranslationalandtorsionalresponsestodifferentearthquakeacceleration.Moreover,thereductionofbothresponsesisapproximatelythesame.Parameteranalysishowevershowsthatthesameparameterhasdifferenteffectonthesetwokindsofresponse.IIAccordingtotheinconsistentseismicreductioneffectsofT
