You will write a paper based on this and present it to the class as a speech. Thanks to the marvelous invention of websites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, hundreds of movie reviews are at our fingertips. Write a paper comparing and contrasting the critical reception. Take three specific reviews and distill them, again comparing and contrasting. This will likely involve reading through multiple reviews in order to find ones that are in-depth enough to write on. Dont just take the first reviews that pop up on Rotten Tomatoes. Take your time. This movie really sucked... A tip: It might be helpful to choose a movie that did not receive all positive/all negative reviews. For instance, Jaws is pulling 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. While you certainly could do Jaws, it will probably be difficult, if only because the reviews are in lockstep for the most part. If you choose something like The Passion of the Christ, on the other hand, you will have an easier time finding a diverse variety of opinions. DO NOT TAKE A STANCE.
