AbstractAsthesocietydevelopsandscienceandtechnologyimprovecontinuously,the amountofinformationexchangehasbecomelargerday byday. Hence, establishinghigh-data-ratesystemisademandingtask.Accordingly,optical communicationsystemhasdevelopedrapidly,whichhasbeenutilizedwidelyfor themeritsofbroadbandwidthandlowattenuation.Atpresent,2.5Gbpsoptical communicationsystemisunderlarge-scaleconstruction. Opticalreceiver is of greatimportanceintheentireopticalsystem.Inaddition,front-endamplifieristhe frontpartofopticalreceiver,whichmakesfront-endamplifieranevenmore criticalresearchtopic.Inthisdissertation,aSTM-16(2.5Gbps)opticalfront-endamplifierwhichis appliedtoSDHisintroduced.Thisfront-endamplifiercomprisesofpreamplifier andlimitingamplifier.First,preamplifierandlimitingamplifierarebriefly outlinedandtheirspecificationsofperformanceareintroduced.Second, configurationofpreamplifiercircuitisanalyzedindetail.Onthebasisofprevious analysis,aninputdynamicrangeexpansioncircuitincludingDC-cancelingand AGCcircuit isproposed.Third, some widebandtechniquesappliedtolimiting amplifierareanalyzed,namely,shuntpeaking,scalling-downandCherry-Hooper amplifier.Intheend,theoreticalanalysisofeachblockinthelimitingamplifieris carriedout.Uponthestudyoffundermentaltheoryofpreamplifierandlimitingamplifier, thefollowingblocksareresonaballydesigned:RGCTIA,DC-cancelingcircuit, inputbufferstage,cascodeCherry-Hooperamplifier,outputbufferstage,offset voltagecompensationloopandsingle-to-double-endcircuit.Alltheblocksaswell asthewholesystemissimulatedin0.18ummixed-signalCMOStechnology. Simulationresultshaveshowed:front-endamplifier’sgainatmediumfrequencyis 116dB,-3dBbandwidthis2.13GHz,inputdynamicrangeis40dB,eyediagramis clearwitheyelargely open.Thewholesystemcanstablyoperateat2.5Gbpsrate.Keywords: front-end amplifier, limiting amplifier, preamplifier, dc-canceling, AGC目录摘要….............................................................................................................IABSTRACT.......................
