AbstractFossilfuels,whichwererichincoal,poorinoilandlittleinnaturegas,hadbeenregardedasthemajorChina’senergyresources.Basedonthissituation,theoveralloptimizationfortheprocessofcoalconversionandtransfer,frommaterialtoenergy,wasneeded.Fromaperspectiveoffeasibilitystudy,thesystemofcoal-basedchemical-powerpolygenerationmadeitrealityfortheutilizationofcoalinawayofhigh-efficiencyandlow-carbon.Itwasalsoaway,what’simportant,tosolvethecompatibleandcoordinativedevelopmentamongenergyshortages,environmentalpollutionandsocialbenefits.Theintegrationofpolygenerationsystemfollowsthecascadeutilizationtheoryofchemicalenergyandphysicalenergy,alongwiththekeysofenergy-savingpotentialandessentialregularitycouldbeenactuallyreflectedbytheprocessofmaterialconversionandenergytransfer.Themodelofpolygenerationsystem,whichinvolvedchemicalfieldandpowergenerationfield,wasestablishedwiththebasicidea:theGSPcoalgasificationasthesourceprocessofsystem,thesystemsofFischer-TropschSynthesis(FTS)andIntegratedGasificationCombinedCycle(IGCC)wererationallymergedinordertointegratethepolygenerationsystemofcoal-basedFTsyncrudeandIGCC.Thissystemmostlyinclude:airseparationunit(ASU),GSPcoalgasificationunit(GSP),watergasshiftunit(WGS),rectisolunit,FTSunit,refiningunit,Claussulfurrecoveryunit(CSR)andthepowergenerationofcombinedcycleunit(PGCC).ThroughthesoftwareofAspenPlus,thesubsystemsweremodeledandsimulated.Thestudyonthesystemintegrationemphasizedonthethermodynamicpoint,whichisbasedonthecascadeutilizationtheoryofchemicalenergyandphysicalenergy,andestablishedtheexergyefficiencyastheoptimizationobjectivefunction.Thevalueofexergyefficiencydeterminesthesystemdegreeofthermodynamicperfectionastheperformanceindicatorofactualprocess,andtheanalysisoflocalsystem,especiallythesizeanddistributionofexergyloss,isthekeytoindicatetheenergy-savingpotential.TheresultsrevealedthatastheproportionofsyngasusedtoFTSwasincreased,theefficiencyofenergyutilizationwasgraduallyenhanced,anditcouldbeillustratedbytheexergyefficiencyofpolygenerati
