On Huizhou merchants’ family education in Ming-Qing dynasty Abstract Based on first-hand up-to-date materials, this thesis first analyzes the phenomenon that Huizhou merchants paid great attention to family education in term of Ming-Qing dynasty, and explains the reason for it. Then the thesis probes into some problems about Huizhou merchants’ family education. It points out that Huizhou merchants not only emphasized teaching the younger generation moral norms and culture knowledge, but also stressed on training them how to engage in trade.
