In many cases M. hyo vaccination is done at ~ 6 weeks of age and followed by a booster at ~ 8-9 weeks of age. Later vaccination is done to avoid any issues with maternal antibody interference. Also, since we want to ensure that the duration of immunity lasts through the finishing period, vaccination is done at these later ages. * SLIDE 36: This slide and slide 37 illustrate some of the work we have done on maternal antibody interference with M. hyo. These studies should probably be covered in detail in an additional presentation.
