The positive transfer can promote English learning while negative transfer will bring obstacles, and even lead to the phenomenon of Chinglish. The differences of social and cultural values, traditions and customs, language and manners all play negative roles in learning a second language. This paper will analyze the transfer of social culture, causes and manifestations, and explore the impact on Chinese-style English so as to avoid negative transfer and help Chinas English learners achieve greater progress in English learning.
