To assessed and compared the affect of surgical intervention on health level, quality of life and anxiety and depression status in 54 patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy before operation and at one month after operationMethodsHospital Anxiety and Depression Scale HADS, Diabetes specificity quality of life scaleDSQL and the SF-36 were be used for surveying the level of anxiety, depression and healthy quality of life. A healthy age- and gender-matched control group n 54 was also recruited. They were required to be ≥ 18 years of age, to have proliferative diabetic retinopathy were scheduled to undergo strabismus surgery. The potential influence of visual function on the improvement of the HADS, DSQL and SF-36 at 1 month after surgery was examined in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy n 54 ResultsA total of 117 patients with diabetic retinopathy were asked to participate: 67 patients with proliferative phase with a mean ± SD anxiety score of 7.11 ± 3.38 and 50 patients with non-proliferative phase with a mean ± SD depression score of 7.59 ± 3.23.
