I. Teaching objectives:
nowledge aims: 1.To master the key words and phrases:curly,straight,tall,medium,height, be of medium height,thin, heavy.
2.Be able to describe people’s looks.
Ability aims:1.Improve Ss’ listening and speaking skills.
2.Ss can describe people’s looks correctly.
Emotional aims:To tell Ss that everyone is special and important. Don’t judge people by their appearance.

How to describe people’s looks.
Master the new words and expressions.
Improve Ss’ listening and speaking abilities.

1.How to describe people’s looks from different aspects.

Learn to describe a person from pictures to consolidate the target language.

Step 1. Greetings and warm-up
T:Good morning, boys and girls!
Ss:Good morning, teacher!
T:What’s the weather like today?
Ss:It’s……
T:Yes……
Step 2. Lead-in
T:Now I want to show you a picture.Please look at the screen.What can you see in the picture? What are they doing now? Who can get the basketball easily, the mother or the girl?
(Let Ss have a discussion with their deskmates and then invite some Ss to share their ideas with the whole class)
Step 3. Vocabulary
Teach new words and phrases:curly,straight,tall,medium,height, be of medium height,thin, heavy.
(I’ll teach new words and expressions according to the pictures on the
screen and have Ss read and remember)
