Functional Analysis of LLAGl and LLGL01 and Construction of their RNAi vectorsAbstractLilies孤e mouocots and ale among the best known and loved bulbous flowers.Lilies and their relatives make up one ofthe largest families offlowering plants with important economic valuein the CUt flower m卸慨around the world.All breeders are in favor with shape breeding andlong for the new cultivars with higher ornamental value,especially double flowers with its noble and plump beauties,Studies wilh eudicots of Arabidopsis舾.aliana and Antirrhinwn 所巧淞led to the ABC model of flower development.Althoulgh the model doean’t suit to monocots,but it has helped to analyze new genes and gene functions in monocots.Although lilies are among the most in3portant ornamental plants,relatively little research has been conducted Oil lily flow日development.Beneditol identified a class C floral homeotic gene LLAGl from L.10ngflorum。and tWO ye越s later LLGLO l genes of class B was isolated and characterized by Wu xiaopin.Our rese簦ch is going tO investigate the function of LLAG I and LLGLO 1.We cloned the two genes from cDNA el 1.10ngflorum.and inserted them into abinmy vector pBI 121 respectively.After confn-matiou of the sequence,Tobacco plants w6lre transformed via Agmbacteriwn twnefaciens.Out of 82 independent kanamycin-resistant of LLGLO 1-pBl 12 1 transgenic plants,40 exhibited phenotypic alterations.These plants were phenotypically similar to wild-type plants during both vegetative and inflorescence development.However,their final size was clearly smaller than wild-type plants.When theflowers were examined,the petals and staillens were shorter obviously than wilds,resulting inthe carpel out of the petals and stamens 0.1-0.4cm.When the anthers and stigma were examined,tlley were both intumeseentia,and the similar phenotypes were observed on ovary.But the sepals we expected didn’t show any abnormal alternation.All those basically support the facts that L】二GL01 expressed in whorl l’2,3 and m戤∽carpels det
