They were carried from one temple to the other or to some particular city. The first to get to the place had the honor to light the flame of the gods with his own torch. The torch is currently completely integrated with the Olympic Movement and is an instrument that should reflect not only the soul of the country organizing the Games, but also the technology available at that moment.
