AbstractInthispaper,thedevelopmentofhighformabilityofmagnesiumalloyforresearchbackground,basedonboththeexistingresearchresultsandexistingproblems,andinordertoimprovethestrengthandtoughnessofmagnesiumalloysasthemainlinetoproceedfromthecontrolofalloycomposition,microstructureandproperties,thegasstirmeltingprocessandmethodofmetaltypecastingwereusedtoproducemagnesiumalloysofMg-Snsystem,Mg-Sn-PbsystemandMg-Sn-Pb-Zrsystem.TheeffectofSn,Pb,andZrelementsonmicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesofmagnesiumalloyatroomtemperaturewerestudied,andfracturemechanismofexperimentalloyswerealsostudied.TheGleeble-3500thermal-mechanicalsimulationtesterwasusedtostudythermalcompressivedeformationbehaviorofexperimentmagnesiumalloys,andtheplasticdeformationbehaviorofthealloywerecomparisonanalyzed.As-castorganizationofMg-xSn(x=2,4,6,8)alloyswerecomposedbyα-MgandMg2Snphase.ThemicrostructureofpuremagnesiumwaschangedbytheadditionofSn.ThemicrostructureandpropertiesofMg-4Snalloyweremostoptimal,itstensilestrengthandelongationratereached112.9MPaand10%,respectively.ThefracturemodeofMg-4Snalloyexhibitedthecharacteristicofquasi-cleavagefracture.AfterPbelementwasaddedintoMg-4Snalloy,themicrostructureofas-castalloysconsistofα-MgandMg2Snphase.TheadditionofPbelementcaninhibittheprecipitationofMg2Snphaseontheboundary,reducetheamountofMg2SnphaseandchangethemorphologyofMg2Snphasetoshortrod-shaped.Pbelementdissolvesinα-MgmatrixandexistsintheMg2Snphase.WhenthePbcontentis2.5%,thetensilestrengthandelongationrateofthetestalloyarebetterthanthatofMg-4Snalloy,reached114.05MPaand12.48%,respectively,whilethehardnessofMg-4SnalloyisreducedbyadditionofPb,thefracturemodeofMg-4Sn-2.5Pballoyexhibitedthecharacteristicofquasi-cleavagefracture.AfterZrelementwasaddedintoMg-4Sn-2.5Pballoy,themicrostructureofas-castalloysconsistofα-Mg,Mg2SnandZrphase.TheadditionofZrelementdidnotsignificantlyrefinethegrainsize,andthereweretrendthatmakeprecipitatesalongthegrainboundaryprecipitatelikemesh.WhentheZrcontentis1.0%,thegrainsizeofmagnesium
