ChapterOneintroducesthebackgroundoftheresearchbyanalyzingthecurrentsituationwhereChina’sEnglishLanguageInstructionisfacingwith,especiallyfocusingontheproblemsthatneedtobeaddressed.ItalsodealswiththesignificanceofProject-basedlearningapproach.Theauthormentionsthatdevelopingstudents’writingabilitymustbepaidcloseattentiontoinEnglishwritingteachinginseniorhighschool.ChapterTwointroducesthedefinitionsoftheproject-basedLearninganditscharacteristics;andprovidesthetheoreticalbackground,concerningconstructivistlearningtheory,scaffoldingtheory,cooperativetheoryandmotivationtheory.ThechapterendswithabriefdiscussionofrelatedempiricalstudiesconcerningPBLandcommentsonthemajorstrengthsandweaknessesofthepreviousstudiesonPBL.ChapterThreepresentsadetaileddescriptionaboutourstudy,whichincludestheresearchdesign,thesubjects,theinstrumentationoftheexperimentproceduresforconductingtheexperimentandprocedures.Observationdatawasanalyzedandexamined.Dataonquestionnairesurveyaresubmittedtostatisticalanalysis.Apretest,amid-testandapost-testareperformedintwoclasses.Theresearchshowsthatduringthepost-testthestudentsintwoclassesgethighermarksthantheydidbefore.ChapterFourdrawsaconclusionbasedonthepresentstudy.TheresultssuggestthatduringEnglishwritingteaching,project-basedLearninghavegreateffectsonimprovingthestudents’Englishwritingskill,throughcollaboration,PBLarousesstudents’interestinlearning,manoeuvresstudents’enthusiasmandmakesthestudentssharetheirexperienceandimproveswritingscorestogether.Atthesametime,therolesofteachersandstudentsshouldbepaidattentionto.What’smore,somelimitationsofthepresentstudyarepointedoutandrecommendationsforfurtherstudiesaresuggested.Keywords:Englishwritingteaching;project-basedlearning(PBL);SeniorEnglishforChina(SEFC);process-orientedwriting摘要《普通高中英语课程标准》(实验稿)(以下简称《高中课标》)明确指出高中英语教学的最终目的是培养学生的交际能力。写作是交际能力的一个重要组成部分。写作作为一项产出性活动,是学生能力的综合体现。写作在语言教学中占有举足轻重的地位,“写”能促进其它几项技能的发展。而且课标还规定高中毕业生的英语写作水平必须达到八级,这意味着对写作的要求比以前更高了。因此培养学生的写作能力至关重要。目前,中国高中英语教学严重忽视写作教学。大多数高中英语教师仍然采用传统的成果教学法。他们注
