This is because, at least for the present, the UK is still a member of the Union and has to comply with all of its membership obligations. How and /or when the UK relationship with the EU will change is still unknown. This means that both the Bar and the Solicitors Regulation Authority continue to require all aspiring lawyers to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of EU law in order to qualify as solicitors or barristers – and this will probably be the case for some time to come. It may also be helpful to bear in mind that this module considers EU law from the EU perspective rather than from the UK perspective.
