Rhythm and Rhyme Rhyme and Slant Rhyme Standard rhymes share the last TWO syllables of the word. Often words that are spelled the same are pronounced very differently: Read (present tense sounds like: reed) Read (past tense sounds like: red) Trough (troff) vs. though (th-oh) Vowel Pronunciation Game Each student receives a card (or cards).
