ABSTRACT There were frequently-happened water pollution accidents in China recently, which showed that the controlling and monitoring system to the dangerous organic pollutions existed limitations. To the cases in which pollution reports were intentionally hided and postponed, there were no suitable abilities to early-warning monitoring and pollution analyzing all over the world. This study successfully achieved one early-warning monitoring technique for organic pollutions in the surface water by ESI-MS-MS technology. This early-warning monitoring technique creatively used alkalization-ion exchange-acidification method to remove the sodium ion in the raw water. It resulted in an effectively suppression to the interference of [M+Na] which appeared frequently in ordinary LC-MS and LC-MS-MS using. The direct connection between parent charge-to-mass ratio and molecular weight was built up, which made reading and analyzing MS data much simpler. To handle more than 90,000 data from one single sample, many basic functions in the Excel software were used. This software automatically chose the suddenly raising charge-to-mass ratio data and best cone voltage data and so on. And the software also offered the best visualization of all the massive data. By structure analyzing, the daughter ion’s chemical structures were gotten. Based on the nature connection between the regular parent-daughter ion parameters and the structures of the molecular- the fragments, this early-warning monitoring technique explained the strategy of arrangement organic pollutions’ fragment database by internet. This made a breakthrough to the limitation of money and standard material, which allowed this technique monitoring more explainable. In all, this early-warning monitoring technique filled the blank of early-warning organic pollutions as well as pollutions’ name confirming.
