The purpose of learning a foreign language is for communication in the target language,and speaking is the most direct communicative method. In recent years,with the publication of the New Curriculum Standard by the State Education Department,the teaching reform in middle and primary schools has been being implemented step by step. The renovation in teaching methods is gradually going in depth. More and more English teachers are gradually changing their traditional teaching concept from knowledge - based to cultivating students’ ability of using the language. Among the four basic language skills, developing students’ listening and speaking abilities should be given the first priority. That is particularly important and necessary in primary and junior middle schools. And the best way is to design tasks for the communicative classrooms. According to David Nunan,“the communicative task as a piece of classroom work involves learners in comprehending, manipulating, producing or interacting in the target language which their attentions principally focused on meaning rather than form.” What are the components of a task?
