Expression of human beta defensing-2 andinterferon-gamma in lesions of condyloma acuminatum Abstract Objective To study the expressions of human beta defensing-2(HBD-2) and interferon-gamma(IFN-y)in the lesions of condyloma acuminatum,and to speculate the pathogenesis and prognosis of condyloma acuminatum. Methods Tissue specimens were collected from the lesions of 25 patients with condyloma acuminatum and 20 patients with psoriasis,as well as from the normal skin of 25 healthy controls.The specimen subjected to an immunohistochemical analysis for the detection of hbd-2 and IFN-y.We used as a positive control group of 20 patients with psoriasis vulgaris lesions and normal skin of 25 healthy used as normal control group.Statistical analysis was performed by using the SPSS16.0 software package,and Wilcoxon rank sum test was carried out to compare the expressions of HBD-2 and IFN-y between these groups , and make correlation analysis. Results 1 The expressions of HBD-2 :Normal stratum basal layer of the skin can be seen a small amount of expression of HBD-2.Condyloma acuminatum lesions of the stratum basal layer visible expression .The epidermal psoriatic lesions layer visible expression.HBD-2 in the epidermis of condyloma acuminatum expressed high compared with normal skin(Z=-5.147 P0.01),But lower than psoriatic lesions (Z=-7.174,P0.05). 2 The expressions of IFN-Y：IFN-ywere observed mainly in the epidermal layer of Normal.Condyloma acuminatum lesions of the stratum basal layer visible expression.The psoriatic Epidermis full-thickness visible expression.IFN-y expression in condyloma acuminatum epidermis is lower than normal skin and psoriasis ( Z=-6.311,P0.05 ； Z=-7.230，P0.05 ) ? 3 relevance analysis:HBD-2 and IFN-y in condyloma acuminatum group correlation coefficient of r = 0.123,P=0.4670.01 , There have no significant.HBD-2 and IFN-y have no correlation in condyloma acuminatum.
